Ingredients:
For the Gnocchi:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- Salt, to taste
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
For the Caramelized Onion and Sage Brown Butter:
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 sage leaves, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Mix the flour, Parmesan cheese, egg, and ricotta cheese. Season with salt.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and roll each into a long rope. Cut into 1-inch pieces to form gnocchi.
- Boil the gnocchi in salted water until they float. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
- Caramelize the onions in butter until golden brown. Stir in chopped sage.
- Toss the cooked gnocchi with caramelized onion and sage brown butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
