DreamUp is a dream analysis
assistant and dream journal software developed for PCs, based upon Jung's
theory of the collective unconscious. It includes a Dream Journal and a Symbol
Dictionary. The program automatically identifies the symbols in a dream, offering
a series of interpretations for that particular symbol, from which the dreamer
can choose the most appropriate. Personal symbols can be added to the dictionary,
and existing symbol interpretations can be added, deleted or modified to become
more personally meaningful. The Dream Journal includes sections for describing
settings, feelings and emotions associated with the dream and recent waking
events or concerns. Dreams and symbols can be reviewed over a period of time,
to determine recurring symbols or themes. The Dream Journal can be printed
out, either in the form of blank pages to use for recording dreams upon awaking,
or as completed journal entries. The software also includes a security feature
so each person in a household can create their own password-protected dream
journal and use the program with an assurance of privacy. DreamUp is easy
to use, and especially helpful in tracking dream themes and patterns from
